Mumbai, April 14: In response to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s resignation, NCP (SP) leader Naseem Siddiqui expressed that a personality like Kumar will fade into the shadows of Delhi. Speaking in Mumbai, he stated that Kumar is reaping the consequences of his past decisions. Had Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu made the right choices two years ago, Kumar could have been the Deputy Prime Minister of India today.
Siddiqui remarked on Kumar’s current predicament, saying he is neither here nor there, lost in the darkness of Delhi. He criticized the BJP for executing their political strategy effectively, leading to Kumar’s loss of power in Bihar.
Targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Siddiqui claimed that Shah is misleading the public. He alleged that Shah is aware of his agent, Gyanesh Kumar, sitting within the Election Commission. According to Siddiqui, the Election Commission has become compromised, operating under the directives of the Home Ministry rather than the Supreme Court.
Siddiqui emphasized that in democracies worldwide, voters are encouraged and new voters are created. He noted that Rajiv Gandhi had lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 to include the youth, but the current Modi government has reportedly reduced voter numbers drastically. He criticized the manipulation of electoral processes, claiming that voters with dissenting views are being removed from voter lists.
On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Siddiqui highlighted the significance of the day for India’s constitution and freedom. He expressed gratitude for having a leader like Ambedkar, who crafted one of the world’s finest constitutions.
Challenging the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Siddiqui referenced Ambedkar’s belief in the country’s diversity and the freedom of religion. He accused the BJP of attempting to instill fear among Muslims under the guise of UCC. He challenged the BJP to unite the 85% majority community, including the backward classes and Dalits, and if successful, he would encourage Muslims to accept the UCC.
Discussing women’s safety, Siddiqui lamented that women in India are not safe. He cited incidents like the Unnao rape case and the recent events involving Haryana’s medal-winning daughters, emphasizing the alarming frequency of such crimes. He pointed out that the Nirbhaya case occurred during the current regime, highlighting the ongoing issues of safety for women in the country.
