New Delhi, May 11: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has leveled serious allegations against the Congress party regarding Article 370 in Kashmir and the arrest of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee. He held former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru responsible for Mukherjee’s arrest while opposing Article 370 in Kashmir.
In a post shared on the social media platform X, Dubey described the Congress rule as a “dark chapter.” He noted that on May 11, 1953, under Nehru’s orders, Dr. Mukherjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, was arrested for opposing Article 370 and the permit system required to enter Kashmir.
Dubey claimed that Dr. Mukherjee mysteriously died in a Kashmir jail after his arrest. He accused the then-government of covering up the incident.
In his post, Dubey also mentioned that Dr. Mukherjee had informed Nehru about his movement beforehand. Following this, Nehru allegedly ordered Kashmiri leader Sheikh Abdullah and then Home Minister Kailash Nath Katju to arrest him.
Dubey accused Congress of instructing Nehru to suppress the movement before his foreign trip. He stated that there were attempts to ban organizations involved in the protests and to halt the publication of major newspapers. According to him, publications like ‘Pratap’ and ‘Milap’ were affected during that period.
He has also shared a letter detailing these claims, which indicates that Nehru ordered the arrest of Dr. Mukherjee through Kailash Nath Katju.
