
Nashik, May 11: Nida Khan, the accused in an alleged conversion and harassment case linked to the TCS office in Nashik, has been remanded to judicial custody. Maharashtra police arrested Khan, presenting her in court after her police remand ended. On Monday, she was brought before the Nashik Road Court, where the judge ordered her to be held for 14 days in judicial custody.
Following the court’s directive, police transported Khan to Nashik Road Central Jail. The Nashik police are conducting the investigation. Previously, she was under police remand, where various aspects of the case were explored during questioning.
Khan was arrested on May 7 from a residential apartment in the Kaisar Colony of the Naregaon area in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Reports indicate she had been living there with her parents, brother, and aunt for several days. Police teams had been monitoring the location for about two days before taking action.
This arrest was made jointly by the Nashik Special Investigation Team (SIT), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissionerate, and the Crime Branch. Investigating officers stated that due to the case’s seriousness and sensitivity, a special team was formed under the supervision of senior officials.
Police officials revealed that Khan was located based on technical surveillance and intelligence information. After completing the legal formalities, she was presented in the local JMFC court for transit remand, and subsequently taken to Nashik for further questioning and legal proceedings.
The SIT confirmed that Khan was wanted in a case registered at the Deolali Camp police station. Authorities noted that the arrest was made under the provisions of BNSS.
