New Delhi, February 25: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two more associates linked to the bomb blast that occurred near the Red Fort in Delhi last year. With these arrests, the total number of individuals apprehended in this case has risen to 11.
According to a press release issued by the NIA on Wednesday, the arrested suspects have been identified as Zameer Ahmed Ahangar from Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, and Tufail Ahmed Bhat from Srinagar. The NIA has formally charged both individuals for their active roles in the Delhi blast conspiracy. Investigations revealed that they provided weapons to the main accused in the blast.
It is noteworthy that the devastating explosion on November 10, 2025, claimed the lives of 11 people, with many others suffering serious injuries. The main accused, Umar, was also killed in the blast. The NIA is conducting an in-depth investigation aimed at uncovering the entire plot behind this cowardly terrorist attack. According to the agency, Zameer Ahmed and Tufail Ahmed were active Over Ground Workers (OGWs) for the banned terrorist organization Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH).
The NIA, in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir police, Haryana police, and other security agencies, has found that the two suspects were not only involved in the Delhi blast conspiracy but also participated in several other terrorist plots. The investigation has further revealed that they were actively engaged in procuring weapons and ammunition intended for use against the Indian state.
The mastermind behind the Delhi blast was Umar, who, along with other accused individuals—Mujammil Ganai, Shaheen Syed, Mufti Irfan, Adil Ahmed Rather, and five other associates—planned the attack. Nine of these accused have already been arrested from various locations in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. The NIA’s investigation into this case is ongoing.
