New Zealand Captain Praises Team Performance Despite T20 Series Loss to India
Despite losing the series 3-2, New Zealands captain Mitch Santner commended his teams performance after their win in the final T20 match.

Hamilton, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : New Zealand showcased a strong performance by defeating India by seven wickets in the fifth T20 match. However, India clinched the series 3-2 overall. Following the match, New Zealand captain Mitch Santner expressed satisfaction with his team’s efforts throughout the series.
Santner reflected on the series, noting that if his team had capitalized on key moments, the outcome could have been different. “Yes, I think we will consider that. We know this series was quite competitive against a very good team. As you mentioned, there were small moments in the early matches where we could have or should have won. If that had happened, the series result could have been quite different,” he stated.
He also highlighted the positives from the series, saying, “From a cricketing perspective, there was a lot of good. Our batting was strong, and our bowlers adapted well in the recent matches. There are many positives to take away. Although the scoreline is 3-2 in favor of India, the result could have easily been reversed.”
Discussing the performance of the bowlers, Santner remarked, “I believe we effectively utilized various bowling styles. We started well with the new ball, but Shreyas and Ishan scored quickly. Our fast bowlers varied their deliveries, mixing yorkers, wide balls, and length changes. Clearly, this has been a valuable learning experience for us. As we approach the World Cup in a few years, these matches at this time of year will provide us with significant lessons.”
