New Delhi, May 15: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the rescheduling of the NEET (UG) 2026 exam, now set for June 21, 2026. This decision comes after receiving approval from the Government of India.
This announcement brings relief to over 2.2 million students who have been in a state of uncertainty. The NTA has urged students and parents to rely solely on official communications and to avoid any rumors. To assist with this, the agency has provided its official website and contact numbers to prevent misinformation.
On Friday, the NTA shared the news via its official social media account, stating, “NEET (UG) 2026 — Exam date announcement. With the approval of the Government of India, the National Testing Agency has decided to conduct the NEET (UG) 2026 exam again on Sunday, June 21, 2026.”
The post further requested candidates and parents to trust only NTA’s official channels. It included the official website and contact numbers: 011-40759000 / 011-69227700.
The need for rescheduling arose after allegations of paper leaks and irregularities during the NEET UG exam held on May 3, 2026. Initial investigations raised questions about the integrity of the examination process, leading to the decision to cancel the exam and prepare for a fresh attempt.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been tasked with the investigation. The CBI is currently working to uncover the network or syndicate behind the paper leak and identify those involved.
