New Delhi, September 1: Political reactions have emerged following India’s real GDP growth reaching 7.8% in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27. NDA leaders attribute this achievement to the government’s development-focused policies, asserting that the administration delivers on its promises.
West Bengal government minister Dilip Ghosh spoke to the media, stating, “The government has nearly achieved its set target. People often criticize targets, but previous administrations also set goals and frequently fell short. Today, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the government does what it says and fulfills its commitments.”
He added, “India is progressing in every sector—be it the economy, law and order, sports, or others—setting new benchmarks. People are happy and contributing, while government employees are performing well. Everything is improving; industries are growing, and GDP is on the rise, with expectations for continued growth in the future.”
Bihar government minister Ramkripal Yadav also commented on the 7.8% GDP growth in the first quarter. He said, “I salute Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for their development-oriented policies. Despite numerous challenges, India has achieved a 7.8% growth in the first quarter.”
Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson RP Singh remarked, “India’s GDP growth has reached 7.8% in a single quarter, surpassing the estimated growth rate. This is a result of PM Modi’s economic policies. While global GDP is declining, ours continues to rise.”
