New Delhi, April 25: Political tensions have escalated following the departure of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha and other MPs to join the BJP. NDA leaders expressed their satisfaction over this development, questioning the leadership of the AAP.
BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala commented in Delhi that the Aam Aadmi Party no longer represents the common man, but has transformed into “Arvind’s solo party.”
He accused Arvind Kejriwal of straying from the party’s foundational principles. Poonawala noted that those who emerged from Anna Hazare’s movement promised change, yet have themselves changed. He pointed out that those who once criticized VIP culture are now residing in a “Sheesh Mahal,” continuously deceiving the public.
On the same issue, BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh launched a sharp attack on AAP in Mohali, Punjab. He alleged that Kejriwal has abandoned the party’s core ideals and stated that a “mafia raj” is currently operating in Punjab under the guise of government. Chugh also claimed that the courts have made remarks regarding Kejriwal’s corruption.
He remarked that AAP leaders have realized that things are not functioning properly within the party, which is why they are leaving. He predicted that the party will soon face complete dissolution, expressing confidence in BJP leadership.
JDU national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan also weighed in on the matter, describing the treatment of Raghav Chadha within the party as unfortunate. He noted that Chadha was a reliable strategist who effectively fulfilled his responsibilities, but the party leadership overlooked him, leading to the current fallout.
Ranjan also criticized Tejashwi Yadav’s tour of West Bengal, asserting that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has lost its relevance not just in Bihar, but across the country, and that Yadav is not being taken seriously.
