Coimbatore, April 6: Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy expressed confidence on Monday that the NDA will secure a full majority in the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking in Coimbatore, he stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the NDA is set to come to power in the state. Reddy emphasized that the people of Tamil Nadu are rejecting dynastic politics and corrupt governance. They desire a development-oriented government led by PM Modi and Palaniswami.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State and BJP candidate from the Avanashi assembly constituency, L. Murugan, filed his nomination on Monday, with G. Kishan Reddy present to support him. His presence attracted considerable attention from party workers and supporters.
Former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan also filed her nomination in the presence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal. BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan from Coimbatore North submitted her nomination alongside Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and former Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai.
Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran filed his nomination from Sathur with the presence of Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. The collective presence of national leaders at various nomination events showcased the BJP’s organizational strength in the state.
Other notable candidates filing nominations included M.R. Gandhi from Nagercoil, S. Vijaydharani from Vilavancode, and Rama Srinivasan from Madurai South. The presence of senior leaders and party workers was evident during these nominations.
Party officials noted that the strong presence of central ministers and senior leaders indicates the BJP’s vigorous efforts to expand its footprint in Tamil Nadu, a state where it has traditionally faced tough competition. Meanwhile, DMK’s General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakant filed her nomination from Vridhachalam.
