NCRTC Launches Third Season of ‘Namo Bharat Unplugged: Live Musical Fridays’ in Meerut

Meerut, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has launched the third season of its popular initiative, ‘Namo Bharat Unplugged: Live Musical Fridays,’ in Meerut. Following the success of the first two seasons and growing demand from travelers, live music performances will now take place at Begampul Station every Friday from 5 PM to 6 PM.

The opening event featured a captivating performance by the musical band ‘Swaraang’ from the Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), which created a vibrant atmosphere at the station. Young artist Anshuman Dwivedi also drew attention with his singing, captivating passengers and music enthusiasts alike. The audience responded enthusiastically, with many humming along and capturing moments on their mobile devices.

According to NCRTC, the aim of ‘Namo Bharat Unplugged’ is to transform daily commutes into enjoyable and memorable experiences. This initiative allows passengers to take a break from their busy schedules, enjoy music, and share cultural experiences with fellow travelers. Located in the heart of Meerut city, Begampul Namo Bharat Station is one of the key stations on the corridor.

Situated between Abu Lane Market and the city’s main commercial area, this underground station also provides services for the Meerut Metro. As a result, it sees a significant influx of passengers and has developed into a crucial mobility hub for the city. The live music performances every Friday evening are set to enhance the travel experience and enliven the station’s atmosphere.

NCRTC emphasizes that this initiative also provides a platform for youth, students, and music lovers to showcase their talents. The first season of ‘Namo Bharat Unplugged’ was held at Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station in 2024, followed by the second season at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station in 2025. Both previous seasons received enthusiastic feedback from passengers.

In response to the growing interest and appreciation from travelers, the third season has now expanded to Meerut. NCRTC’s goal is to develop Namo Bharat stations not just as transport centers but as vibrant public spaces connected to art, culture, and creativity. Thus, every Friday evening from 5 PM to 6 PM, Begampul Station will host live music, offering passengers the chance to enjoy music and discover the talents of local and young artists.
