NCPs Naseem Siddiqui Criticizes Government Over Azam Khans Arrest, Calls It an Undeclared Emergency

Naseem Siddiqui condemns the governments actions following Azam Khans arrest, claiming an undeclared emergency in India.

Mumbai, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Naseem Siddiqui, the national spokesperson for the NCP-SP alliance, launched a scathing critique of the central government following the recent arrest of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan shortly after his release from jail. Speaking in Mumbai on November 1, Siddiqui asserted that an “undeclared emergency” now prevails in the country, where justice can be overturned within 24 hours.

Siddiqui emphasized that the judicial system’s decisions are swiftly undermined, particularly if the individual involved is from the Muslim community. He stated, “If someone receives justice, plans to imprison them are already in place before their release.” He described the government’s actions as undemocratic and unjust, warning that such injustices cannot be tolerated indefinitely.

He further argued that while Khan was granted bail, the government swiftly moved to re-arrest him, highlighting a systemic bias. “If the property in question belonged to someone like Ram Prasad or Alok Kumar, it wouldn’t be attached, nor would Azam Khan face re-arrest. Justice is being served based on names,” he remarked.

Siddiqui also commented on the selective nature of justice, suggesting that the judiciary seems aware of the backgrounds of petitioners, determining outcomes based on their identities rather than on merit.

In response to a related question, he expressed support for the incorporation of religious texts in legal decisions, stating that if the Muslim Personal Law Board can reference Sharia, the Quran, and Hadith, then Hindu texts like the Gita and Ramayana should also be considered valid in guiding legal judgments for Hindus.

Addressing concerns about upcoming elections, Siddiqui warned that if the Election Commission, Home Minister, and Prime Minister pre-determine election outcomes, it indicates potential manipulation. He described such rhetoric as the language of “thieves and robbers,” asserting that honest individuals would not engage in such discourse.

On the topic of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Siddiqui argued that the BJP is effectively declaring a Hindu nation, implementing policies that favor the Hindu community. He claimed that the UCC is already being practiced at the societal level, despite not being formally enacted.
