Kyiv, March 15 : The NATO was “the strongest alliance in the world” but “some of the members of this alliance are hy otised by Russian aggression”, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at the UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force on Tuesday. The President warned the European countries that the Russian “war machine” will target them if it is not stopped. “We can stop Russia. We can stop the killing of people. “It will be easier to do it together, to stop the destruction of democracy and stop it now on our land. Because else, they will also come to you.” He said, “We hear a lot of conversations about the third world war, that allegedly it could start if NATO will close the Ukrainian sky for Russian missiles and planes and therefore the humanitarian no-fly zone was not yet established. “That allows the Russian army to bombard peaceful cities and blow up housing blocks and hospitals and schools. Four multi-storey buildings in Kyiv in the early morning were bombarded, dozens of dead.” Slamming NATO alliance, the President said that currently his people were relying on the support of international partners rather than the NATO alliance, BBC reported. He said, “Of course, Ukraine is not a Nato member, we understand that. We have heard for many years about the open doors, but we also heard that we can’t enter those doors.” Other countries bordering Russia should think about their “independent defence capabilities” outside NATO, he added. At the meeting, the Ukrainian President pointed out that the shipments of supplies from the UK and other nations were being rapidly used up. “The amount that we are getting per week is used usually by us within 20 hours.” As a result, captured Russian equipment and old Soviet-era kit was being pushed into service, he highlighted. At the virtual meeting, he also questioned the foreign companies’ commitment to a long-term boycott of Russia and said, “Some companies say they have left, but they are just waiting for the moment they can return to the Russian market.
