Puducherry, March 21 : A three-member team from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) will conduct a two-day inspection in Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College here on Monday. The peer team, headed by Nirmani Kanti Chakrabarti, Vice-Chancellor of West Bengal National versity of Juridical Sciences, which arrived here on Sunday night will assess the physical infrastructure, interact with faculty and students during their stay before submitting a report to NAAC for accreditation, official sources said. The other members of the team are Ebenezer Joseph from Tamil Nadu National Law versity and Mohammad Tariq from Aligarh Muslim versity. The College had been deprived of sourcing funds from the National bodies such as versity Grants Commission (UGC), National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Competition Commission of India, National Commission for Women and Ministry of Human Resource Development. “Very recently an application for funding for a programme was rejected by NHRC. So, we thought it appropriate to apply for NAAC accreditation for the first time. It will be a gift to the institute which is celebrating its golden jubilee. The accreditation will help us to attract more talent, besides getting more grants and projects to improve academic quality,” the sources said. PAB CS1005
