Mumbai, April 23: A Muslim woman in Mumbai has accused her husband of abuse and is demanding strict action, including the use of bulldozers against him. The victim and her father have appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen laws regarding ‘love jihad’ and triple talaq.
The victim’s father stated that his daughter married Wasim Ali Sheikh in Saki Naka on December 1, 2019. He claims the case is linked to ‘love jihad,’ explaining that his daughter’s husband had an affair with a girl from another community before their marriage.
According to the father, the husband exploited that girl. When the victim discovered the affair, she confided in her mother-in-law, who responded by physically assaulting her. Following the birth of their first child, the victim underwent an abortion upon learning that her second pregnancy was with a girl.
The father alleges that the accused has targeted three other girls. He claims the husband is employed and has urged the government to take similar bulldozer action against him as seen in Uttar Pradesh.
The victim shared that her husband had a girlfriend both before and after their marriage. She expressed reluctance to discuss the matter further, citing her status as a woman. However, she mentioned that inappropriate images were exchanged between her husband and the other girl. The victim has called for justice and demanded bulldozer action at the accused’s residence.
