Mukul Chaudharys Stellar Performance Leads LSG to Victory Over KKR in IPL 2026

Kolkata, April 10: In a thrilling match at Eden Gardens, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) triumphed over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by three wickets in IPL 2026. Young batsman Mukul Chaudhary turned the game around with a remarkable half-century.

Chasing a target of 182 runs, LSG started steadily with Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram contributing to a solid opening partnership. They added 41 runs in just 4.1 overs. Marsh scored 15 runs off 11 balls before getting out, while Markram managed 22 runs from 15 balls before falling to Vaibhav Arora, who dismissed both openers in quick succession.

Captain Rishabh Pant had a disappointing outing, scoring only 10 runs off 9 balls. Nicholas Pooran continued his struggle, making just 13 runs off 15 balls. Abdul Samad was clean bowled by Anukul Roy for just 2 runs. However, Ayush Badoni anchored the innings with an impressive half-century, scoring 54 runs off 34 balls, including seven fours and two sixes.

In the final overs, 21-year-old Mukul Chaudhary showcased his talent, scoring an unbeaten 54 runs off just 27 balls, leading LSG to a memorable victory. In a crucial last over, needing 14 runs for victory, Mukul hit two sixes off Vaibhav Arora, dousing KKR’s hopes of winning. Arora and Anukul Roy each took two wickets for KKR, while Sunil Narine and Cameron Green claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, KKR batted first after losing the toss, scoring 181 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs. Phil Allen struggled with the bat, scoring only 9 runs. However, Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuwanshi formed a vital partnership, adding 84 runs for the second wicket off 52 balls. Rahane scored 41 runs off 24 balls, while Angkrish contributed 45 runs off 33 balls. Rinku Singh managed just 4 runs before getting out.

Cameron Green and Rovman Powell then took charge, forming an unbeaten partnership of 70 runs for the fifth wicket off 40 balls. Green remained not out at 32 runs from 24 balls, while Powell scored 39 runs off 24 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes. For LSG, Digvijesh Rathi, Avesh Khan, Prince Yadav, and Siddharth each took one wicket. This marks KKR’s third loss of the season, while LSG celebrates their second victory in IPL 2026.
