Mother of Accused in Uttam Nagar Murder Case Appeals to Delhi High Court Against Bulldozer Action

New Delhi, March 10: In the tragic murder case of Tarun that occurred in the Uttam Nagar area during Holi, the administration has taken bulldozer action against the accused. Now, the family of the accused has approached the Delhi High Court. The court is set to hear the case on Tuesday.

The mother of the accused has filed a petition against the bulldozer action in the High Court. The petitioner’s lawyer stated that the co-accused’s house has already been demolished, raising concerns that their home might also face similar action.

On March 8, the bulldozer action was executed against the accused’s residence, while three women were taken into custody on March 9. According to the Delhi Police, the detained women include Saira, Sharif, and Salma. The police have already arrested seven individuals, including a minor, in connection with this murder case. The incident took place in the JJ Colony of Uttam Nagar on Holi.

The victim’s family claims that an 11-year-old girl was playing Holi on her terrace. During the festivities, a balloon thrown by her fell and splashed color on a woman from the Muslim community passing by. The girl’s family reported that they immediately apologized to the woman. However, the woman allegedly created a scene, prompting her family and relatives to arrive at the location.

It is alleged that they surrounded 26-year-old Tarun Kumar and attacked him with a cricket bat, sticks, and stones. Tarun was severely injured and taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning.

Following Tarun’s death, tensions escalated in the area on Friday. Hindu organizations protested against the incident, blocking major roads and disrupting traffic. In light of the unrest, many local shops were closed as a precaution.

The Delhi administration has taken strict action in this case, and the police are actively pursuing the arrest of the accused.
