Modi takes out impressive road show in Varanasi

Varanasi, March 4 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi took out an impressive road show in his home constituency of Varanasi which ended at Kashi Vishwanath Dham where he performed puja, here on Friday. On December 13 last year Modi had inaugurated the corridor connecting Ganga directly with the Kashi Vishwanath temple. This was his first visit after the grand inauguration. On his arrival at Kashi Vishwanath temple Modi was greeted with the hymn of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ by thousands of supporters and devotees there. The PM started his roadshow around 3.45 pm after garlanding the statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel at Maldahiya. In 2014 he started his political inning in Varanasi from the same place. The roadshow which started from Maidagini covered a distance of three kilometers passing through Lahurabeer, Kabeer Chaura, Lohatiya, Maidagini, Nichi Bagh and Chowk. A huge crowd gathered on both sides of the road to greet the PM and people showered flower petals from their houses. After performing puja at Kashi Vishwanath the PM left for Kashi Hindu versity by road covering a distance of five kilometers and will garland the statue of founder of Banaras Hindu versity Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya. It may be noted that polling in Kashi will be held on Sunday in the seventh and last phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls. Campaigning for the last phase will end on Saturday. XC AB ACL2015
