New Delhi, May 13: The police in Greater Noida’s Beta-2 area have achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting three notorious criminals involved in mobile snatching and vehicle theft. Authorities recovered a stolen motorcycle, four snatched mobile phones, and three illegal knives from the suspects.
The arrested individuals had been targeting pedestrians in the area for quite some time. According to police reports, on May 12, the Beta-2 police, aided by local intelligence and beat policing, conducted a checking operation. During this operation, three suspicious youths were apprehended near the NPCIL office in Chai-4. Upon interrogation, they were identified as Amit alias Netrapal, Lala alias Abhishek, and Adil.
Amit, originally from Chakpur Kadeem village in the Shahabad area of Rampur district, was residing in Birondi village, Gautam Buddh Nagar. The second suspect, Lala alias Abhishek, is a resident of Nawada village in the Beta-2 area, while the third suspect, Adil, hails from Tughlakpur village in the Knowledge Park area.
Investigations revealed that the suspects would scout the area before targeting pedestrians in isolated spots or crowded streets. They would ride a stolen motorcycle, swiftly snatch mobile phones, and escape. To evade capture, they had also affixed fake number plates to the motorcycle. The Beta-2 police recovered a Splendor motorcycle with a counterfeit number plate from the suspects.
In addition, four snatched mobile phones and three illegal knives were seized. The police have registered a case against the suspects at the Beta-2 police station under FIR No. 172/2026, invoking sections 317(5), 345(3) BNS, and 4/25 of the Arms Act. Authorities are now investigating the suspects’ criminal history to determine if they are linked to a larger gang.
