MLC Elections Serve as a Preview for 2027, Says Bhupendra Singh

Bhupendra Singh criticizes Akhilesh Yadav, asserting the MLC elections foreshadow a BJP victory in 2027.

Lucknow, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Bhupendra Singh has launched a strong critique against Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party (SP). Singh accused Yadav of a longstanding tendency to tarnish constitutional institutions. He noted that the SP previously objected to electronic voting machines (EVMs) and is now alleging fraud with the return to ballot papers.

Singh emphasized that the upcoming results of the MLC elections will offer the SP a chance to assess its true standing and ground realities. He described these elections as a precursor to the 2027 assembly elections, predicting a resounding victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to Singh, Yadav’s bluster will ultimately lead to his downfall, forcing him to evade public and media scrutiny post-results.

He pointed out that the electorate in Uttar Pradesh has already shown its preference during the Rajya Sabha elections. Singh urged the SP to evaluate its leadership and effectiveness. He criticized the party for blaming others for its failures, referencing a statement from SP National General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav, who acknowledged that there were no errors on the part of election officials. He suggested that SP workers have not put in adequate effort to register names on the voter list and advised Yadav to take heed of his uncle’s remarks.
