Missing Girl Found Safe at Anand Vihar Metro Station, Reunited with Family

New Delhi, April 5: A young woman, who had left home without informing her family, was found in distress at Anand Vihar Metro Station. Thanks to the swift action of the Delhi police, she was safely reunited with her family, officials reported on Sunday.

The incident came to light on Saturday when Head Constable Aadarsh and Woman Constable Sunita were on their regular patrol. During their rounds, they arrived at the metro station and noticed a young girl sitting alone, visibly upset and crying.

According to officials, the police officers immediately approached her to ensure her safety. An official statement revealed that the officers contacted the girl and, under the supervision of Woman Constable Sunita, explained the situation in a calm and reassuring manner. Initially hesitant, she was gradually encouraged to share her information.

After ongoing counseling and efforts to build trust, the girl eventually disclosed her identity. During questioning, she mentioned that she had been under mental stress due to academic pressures from her family over the past two to three days. She admitted to leaving home around 4 AM without informing anyone.

Once the police gained her trust, they obtained her father’s contact details and reached out to him immediately. Her father confirmed that she had left home without notice and that the family had been searching for her.

Police officials reported that they informed the family about the girl’s safety at the metro station and that they were on their way. They also mentioned that her younger brother had already been sent for assistance. Shortly after, the girl’s uncle arrived at the police station with other relatives and identified her as his niece.

Upon the father’s arrival, the police provided him and other family members with full details in the presence of the girl. They advised the family to have her undergo a medical check-up, but they declined, stating that she was in good condition.

After completing all necessary formalities and confirming the details, the girl was safely handed over to her father in the presence of her relatives.
