Christchurch, April 3 : Meg Lanning on Sunday completed her 100 One-Day International (ODI) matches for Australia. Lanning, who made her ODI debut in 2011, achieved the milestone in the 2022 ICC Women’s World Cup final against England at the Hagley Oval. Australia great Belinda Clark said, “It seems like only yesterday that you walked out to open the batting for your first ODI v England in Perth, and your 100th ODI will be a World Cup final. What an amazing 11 years.” “Can you believe that your opening partner in that match was the great Shelley Nitschke? So it is fitting that Shell, as a key member of your support staff, is on the sideline to support you 99 games later. “You have shown a hunger to evolve your game and then lead the team with great distinction. All the best for final. Go well,” said Clark in a post tweeted by Australian Women’s Cricket Team. Former Australia captain Lisa Sthalekar shared a picture with Lanning on Instagram, saying, “Wishing @meglanning7 all the best in her 100th ODI match. Have loved being there for your debut and now I get to sit back and enjoy calling the your action. What a match to bring up 100.”
