Lucknow, August 25: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has outlined its strategy for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2027. BSP chief Mayawati announced on Tuesday that the party will contest elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand without forming alliances or agreements with any other parties.
She emphasized the need to strengthen the party organization at the booth level and to select dedicated and honest candidates. During a meeting held in Lucknow, Mayawati reviewed the party’s grassroots presence and organizational status in Punjab, stressing that the BSP must prepare vigorously for better outcomes in the upcoming assembly elections.
Mayawati instructed party officials to ensure that there are no shortcomings in the election preparations. She pointed out that electoral alliances often lead to losses in both seat counts and vote percentages. This is why the BSP will contest the elections independently in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand.
The BSP leader called on party workers to unite and face all tactics employed by opponents to achieve better results. During the meeting, Mayawati also discussed preparations for the commemoration of the party’s founder, Kanshiram, on October 9, urging adherence to last year’s guidelines. Additionally, she stressed enhancing the economic support provided by the BSP on January 15, 2027, during the ‘Jan Kalyankari Divas’ event.
She stated that these initiatives would help promote Ambedkarite ideology and the BSP movement. Mayawati reiterated that the party’s goal is to advance policies that liberate the poor, unemployed, and marginalized communities from poverty and unemployment, while providing them with opportunities for a dignified life. She directed the party organization to remain fully active and prepared for the upcoming elections.
