Massive Explosion Rocks Chemical Factory in Chittorgarh

Chittorgarh, February 10: A powerful explosion occurred at the Mehrun Industries chemical factory located in the RIICO industrial area of Kapasan, Chittorgarh district, Rajasthan. The blast was so intense that its sound was heard up to five kilometers away, causing panic in the surrounding area.

Following the explosion, a thick cloud of black smoke billowed from the factory premises, leading to chaos among local residents. A severe fire broke out in the factory, and the pungent smell of chemicals disturbed nearby inhabitants.

Upon receiving news of the incident, local council president Raj Vijayvargiya and development officer Vikas Baregama promptly dispatched fire brigades and ambulances to the scene. Meanwhile, MLA Arjun Lal Jeenagar immediately informed the district collector about the situation.

Recognizing the seriousness of the incident, District Collector Alok Ranjan, Superintendent of Police Manish Tripathi, Sub-Divisional Officer Rajesh Suwalka, DYSP Harji Lal Yadav, and Station Officer Sunil Sharma arrived at the location with a significant police presence.

Additionally, extra fire brigades were called in from Chittorgarh. Firefighters worked diligently to control the blaze. Currently, police and administrative officials are stationed at the site, monitoring the situation. Local citizens and factory personnel have been advised to remain cautious and follow safety protocols due to the chemical exposure. The entire Kapasan area remains on high alert following the incident.

District Collector Alok Ranjan reported that high-level administrative officials reached the site immediately after the explosion was reported. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties. Investigations into the cause of the explosion are underway, and information about other nearby factories is being gathered.
