New Delhi, July 15: Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has voiced concerns over several pressing issues, including international tensions in the Hormuz Strait, the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple, the government’s stance on passport definitions, and claims by the BJP regarding the upcoming by-elections in Bihar’s Bankipur constituency.
Commenting on the renewed blockade by the U.S. in the Hormuz Strait, Jha remarked that the world is currently facing crises viewed through economic indicators rather than humanitarian perspectives. He noted that it is rare to hear leaders speak in such alarming terms about war and military actions. The inconsistency in statements, where peace is promised initially followed by announcements of military action, only exacerbates global instability.
Jha also questioned the role of the United Nations, suggesting that if it cannot effectively fulfill its responsibilities, nations should seriously reconsider its relevance. He emphasized that any crisis linked to the Hormuz Strait has global ramifications and can spread like wildfire.
Regarding the alleged theft at the Ram Temple, Jha stated that the upcoming SIT report should be awaited before drawing conclusions. However, he characterized the incident as a severe betrayal of faith, religious beliefs, and traditions. He accused certain individuals, who claim to be devotees of Lord Ram, of believing they are above scrutiny. Jha pointed out that even those who voted for the government are now realizing their mistake. He criticized Prime Minister Modi’s silence on such a serious issue, highlighting it as a topic of significant discussion.
In response to the government’s assertion that passports are merely documents regulating foreign travel for Indian citizens, Jha offered a sarcastic remark. He noted that this definition had previously sparked widespread debate and criticism. He suggested that the government should form a committee to clarify the definition of passports and, if necessary, introduce legislation in the upcoming parliamentary session to prevent varying interpretations.
On the BJP’s claims of victory in the Bankipur by-election, Jha stated that the party’s promises have often collapsed quickly, a reality the nation has witnessed multiple times. He expressed concern during the election period about the emergence of a strong third candidate. Now, with the situation clearer, he is confident that the public will make a decision aligned with their sentiments. Jha asserted that the voters of Bankipur will make a wise choice, predicting a favorable outcome for the RJD. He emphasized that the public’s decision is more crucial than political claims and expressed confidence that voters will consider their interests when casting their ballots.
