Karnal, 3 January. Union Minister Manohar Lal categorically dismissed the opposition’s allegations of vote theft, stating that there is no truth in these claims. He said these accusations are driven by political malice and will not benefit the opposition in any way.

In a conversation with journalists on Saturday, Manohar Lal questioned why the opposition keeps raising issues like vote theft and EVM malfunctions. He pointed to a recent survey in Karnataka where 91 percent of respondents expressed no complaints about EVMs. He called the vote theft claims misleading and lamented the political ill intent behind such accusations. According to him, the survey has exposed the opposition’s true colours.

The Union Minister added that before every election, opposition parties bring up EVM and vote theft allegations to gain political advantage. He recalled how similar claims were made before the Bihar elections, but the outcome proved otherwise. He said the public has now understood that these allegations lack any factual basis.

On the issue of illegal immigrants, Manohar Lal stated that the government is taking consistent steps against them. He said those residing in the country illegally are being identified and shown the door, which appears to annoy the opposition. He questioned why India would allow foreign nationals to stay unlawfully and accused the opposition of wanting them to remain for political gain.

Manohar Lal accused the opposition of exploiting illegal immigrants for their political benefit. He claimed that actually, vote theft was being done by the opposition. He said the government has begun measures to stop this by identifying fake voters and removing those illegally residing in India. He emphasised that such people cannot be accepted in the country.
