Manish Tewari Calls Pakistans Legal Action Against Terrorists a Fantasy

New Delhi, August 23: Congress MP Manish Tewari stated on Sunday that the notion of Pakistan sending a terrorist to India for trial is merely a “fantasy.” He emphasized that even after the 26/11 attacks, when Pakistan acknowledged its citizens’ involvement, no action was taken against the perpetrators.

India is preparing to summon Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the Pulwama attack, through diplomatic channels.

In an interview with a news agency, Tewari remarked, “The reality is that the Pulwama attack involved identifying victims based on their religion and executing them in front of their families. Following this, India retaliated between May 7 and 10, targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan. The primary goal was to dismantle the terrorist networks and organizations operating there.”

He asserted that the appropriate response to terrorist attacks is to “respond to bricks with stones,” while the legal process continues.

Tewari further stated, “Given that Pakistan has acknowledged its citizens’ involvement in the 26/11 attacks, the actions taken in Pakistan have not reached any conclusion. Therefore, expecting Pakistan to send a terrorist to India or take legal action against them is purely a fantasy. The fundamental truth is that there is only one way to combat terrorism, which powerful nations adopt.”

It is noteworthy that in the terrorist attack on April 22, 2025, in Pulwama, 26 innocent people were shot. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed its first charge sheet in December 2025.
