Guwahati, May 12: Himanta Biswa Sarma will take oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second term on May 12. Senior BJP leaders, along with Chief Ministers from various states, are arriving for the ceremony. Among them is Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, who reached Guwahati on Monday.
In an interview with a news agency, Saha emphasized the significance of the BJP’s victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections. “This was crucial for Bengal. Not just the people there, but the entire nation wanted relief from TMC. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah worked tirelessly for this victory. Along with national leaders, Chief Ministers also put in considerable effort in West Bengal. I personally held rallies and public meetings in 18-19 locations, which contributed to our positive outcome. It was essential for national security to free Bengal from TMC. Everyone is pleased with the election results in West Bengal, Puducherry, and Assam,” he stated.
Saha further noted, “Under Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership, Assam is progressing even more. The initiatives taken for the welfare of the Sanatani people have yielded benefits. It is crucial to curb illegal immigration for the country’s well-being. We have been running campaigns to stop infiltrators in Tripura, and with a three-tier security system at the border, we can apprehend them as soon as they attempt to enter.”
He mentioned that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah are dedicated to serving all states, which is why the BJP continues to achieve victories. “Under the guidance of our senior leaders, the citizens are happy,” he added.
Earlier, while speaking to the media at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Saha expressed his excitement about attending Sarma’s oath-taking ceremony and witnessing the historic launch of BJP 3.0 in Assam. “Development, progress, and effective governance are ongoing,” he concluded.
