
Noida, May 5: The Sector-24 police in Noida have successfully uncovered a notorious vehicle theft gang. In a significant operation, police arrested two suspects based on manual intelligence and confidential tips. From their possession and identification, they recovered 10 stolen motorcycles, 2 scooters, and 2 illegal knives.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Aniket alias Ankit (24 years old) and Ratan Singh alias Ravi (23 years old). Both suspects are residents of the Khoda Colony area in Ghaziabad. They were apprehended in the T-Block area of Sector-11.
During police interrogation, the suspects made startling revelations. They admitted to scouting crowded areas and monitoring motorcycles parked outside homes. They would then seize the opportunity to steal bikes and scooters from various locations in Delhi, Noida, and the NCR.
The stolen vehicles were hidden in desolate forests and bushes in Sector-54, Noida, and were later sold at low prices. The suspects also confessed to carrying knives for protection against being caught during their thefts. They shared the proceeds from their crimes equally, using the money for personal expenses.
According to police, both suspects have extensive criminal records. Aniket alias Ankit has approximately 15 cases registered against him in various police stations, including charges related to theft, the Arms Act, and the Excise Act. Similarly, Ratan Singh alias Ravi faces several serious charges.
The recovered vehicles include popular models such as KTM, Hero Splendor, Honda Shine, TVS Apache, and Rider, along with two scooters. Police continue to interrogate the suspects to identify other individuals connected to this network.
