Mumbai, March 12: A significant development has emerged in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. The Supreme Court has granted bail to the accused, Pawan Bishnoi and Jagat Singh, during a hearing on their bail petitions.
The court, led by Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta, provided relief to both defendants. They faced charges related to the conspiracy behind the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, which occurred in 2022. Both Pawan Bishnoi and Jagat Singh were accused of supplying a Bolero vehicle to the shooters involved in the case. The charge sheet linked them to the Bishnoi gang and Goldy Brar.
Previously, in 2023, Pawan Bishnoi and Jagat Singh had applied for bail in a local court in Mansa, but their request was denied. During the proceedings, Pawan Bishnoi claimed his innocence, asserting that the police were attempting to frame him. He stated that he did not provide a vehicle to anyone. However, the prosecution opposed the bail, describing their actions as heinous, leading the court to reject their plea. Now, with the Supreme Court’s ruling, both have been granted bail.
It is important to note that Sidhu Moosewala was murdered on May 29, 2022. The singer was shot multiple times by unidentified assailants shortly after leaving his home. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack via a Facebook post, stating that the murder was revenge for the death of their associate, Vicky Middukheda.
Following Vicky Middukheda’s murder, police investigations revealed that the shooters had been sheltered by Sidhu Moosewala’s manager, Shaganpreet Singh, in a flat, making the singer a target for the Bishnoi gang.
