
Patna, March 18: The Bihar government executed a significant administrative reshuffle within the police department on Wednesday morning. This involved the transfer of four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, who have been assigned new responsibilities. Additionally, two officers from the Bihar Police Service have also been transferred.
The Home Department of Bihar (Police Branch) has issued an official notification regarding these transfers. According to the notification, Ajay Kumar Pandey, an IPS officer from the 2012 batch, has been moved from the position of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Patna, to the role of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Prohibition and Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Bihar, Patna. Meanwhile, Prerna Kumar, an IPS officer from the 2018 batch, has been reassigned from the position of Superintendent of Police, Nawgachia, to the Superintendent of Police for Lakhisarai.
In a similar vein, Rajesh Kumar, Superintendent of Police for Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau, Patna, has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police for Nawgachia until further notice. Additionally, Avadhesh Dixit, the Superintendent of Police for Lakhisarai, has been designated as the Superintendent of Police for Personnel-1 at the Bihar Police Headquarters.
Furthermore, two officers from the Bihar Police Service have also been assigned new roles. Ram Krishna, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Cyber Crime) from Katihar, has been appointed as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer-1 for Flood, Patna, until further notice. Anand Kumar Singh, who was serving as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer-1 for Flood, has been transferred to the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police for High Court Security, Patna.
The Home Department has instructed all officers to assume their new positions immediately. This administrative change is considered significant, and there are expectations that the deployment of new officers will strengthen law and order in the state. The government is actively working to improve the law and order situation across Bihar.
