New Delhi, April 13: Nadir Godrej will retire from his position as Chairman and Managing Director of Godrej Industries on August 13, marking the end of a remarkable 25-year tenure. Following his retirement, he will take on the role of Chairman Emeritus starting August 14.

This transition comes as Nadir Godrej approaches his 75th birthday in August, concluding a significant era of influential leadership at Godrej Group. Under his guidance, Godrej Industries not only strengthened its market position but also set numerous records in innovation.

In recognition of his contributions, the company’s board has decided to appoint him as Chairman Emeritus, where he will collaborate with his brother, Adi Godrej.

The company stated in its regulatory filing, “The board meeting held on April 13 acknowledged Nadir Godrej’s desire to retire. Considering his decades of contributions and guidance, he has been assigned a new role.”

As part of this leadership change, Pirojsha Godrej will assume the roles of Board Chairperson and Chairperson of Godrej Industries Group starting August 14. He has already been designated as Chairperson-Designate, indicating that this transition has been planned in advance.

Additionally, the board has approved the appointment of Burgis Godrej as a non-executive, non-independent director within the company.

Beyond Godrej Industries, Nadir Godrej will also step down from his responsibilities at Godrej Agrovet and Astec Lifesciences, where he held roles as Chairperson and Director.
