Major Fire Erupts in Ghaziabad Slums, Prompt Action Averts Disaster

Ghaziabad, May 4: A significant fire broke out in the slums of Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, early Monday morning, causing panic in the area. At approximately 5:31 AM, the fire station in Vaishali received reports of a severe blaze in the slum clusters of Sector 9, Vasundhara.

Upon receiving the alert, the fire department sprang into action. Under the leadership of the Chief Fire Officer of Ghaziabad and the Officer in Charge of Vaishali, three fire tankers were dispatched to the scene immediately. Firefighters arrived to find around five shanties engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing into the air, creating a sense of fear among the nearby residents.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the firefighting team quickly took control of the scene. They laid down hose pipelines and began extinguishing the fire through pumping techniques. Thanks to the firefighters’ quick thinking and prompt response, they managed to bring the blaze under control swiftly. Fortunately, their readiness prevented the flames from spreading to nearby homes, averting a major disaster.

The affected shanties belonged to residents Shilajuddin from Meerut, Maniram from Madhya Pradesh, Naresh and Rajesh from Hardoi, and Maharaj from Meerut. All individuals were present at the time of the incident, but fortunately, there were no casualties reported.

Local police also arrived promptly to assist in managing the situation. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation. Authorities have urged residents to adhere to fire safety standards to prevent such incidents in the future.
