Major Fire Erupts in Ghaziabad Residential Building, Nine Rescued Without Casualties

Ghaziabad, May 5: A significant fire broke out in a residential building located in Indirapuram, Policy Block-2, causing panic in the area. The incident was reported to the Vaishali Fire Station via the 112 emergency system around 1:30 PM on May 5.

Upon receiving the alert, the Chief Fire Officer of Ghaziabad and the in-charge officer from Vaishali quickly mobilized their teams to the scene. When the fire department arrived, the blaze had already escalated on the ground floor of plot number 495. Given the fire’s intensity, firefighters promptly laid hoses and began extinguishing the flames.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, two water tankers with capacities of 22,000 liters and 14,000 liters were dispatched from the Vaishali Fire Station, along with an additional fire tender from Sahibabad. Rescuing individuals trapped inside the building proved to be extremely challenging. Firefighters undertook the risky rescue operation and successfully evacuated a total of nine people.

The rescued individuals ranged from young children to elderly adults, including 3-year-old Sunny, 7-year-old Karvik, 11-year-old Gunnoo, 39-year-old Pooja Gupta, 37-year-old Neha Gupta, 42-year-old Seema, 75-year-old JP Gupta, 75-year-old Prabha Gupta, and 45-year-old Sharad. The situation became more dire when two small and one large gas cylinders inside the house exploded during the fire.

Despite these challenges, the fire department exhibited courage and quick thinking, managing to control the fire and protect nearby homes. They also safely retrieved five motorcycles and three bicycles parked at the site. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. The swift action and vigilance of the fire department averted a major disaster. Currently, an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
