Major Breakthrough in Nilofar Murder Case as Police Arrest Fugitive in Jaipur

Police have arrested fugitive Naeem Khan Fateh in connection with the Nilofar murder case, a month after he went into hiding.

Khargone, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : Authorities in Madhya Pradesh have made significant progress in the high-profile Nilofar murder case. Naeem Khan Fateh, the main suspect who had been on the run for over a month, was apprehended by Khargone police in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The police had previously announced a reward of ₹10,000 for information leading to his capture. According to officials, Fateh had been evading arrest by frequently changing locations across five states, including Madhya Pradesh. The police team traveled approximately 3,000 kilometers to successfully locate and arrest him.

During the search, officers adopted various disguises, working at roadside eateries, driving e-rickshaws, and even assisting with gas cylinder deliveries to blend in. Following his arrest, the police are currently in the process of presenting him in court to secure a remand.

The case gained attention when Farhan Sheikh filed a complaint at the Khargone police station on August 16, reporting that his sister, Nilofar, had died on August 15. Family members claimed that her husband had buried her without a post-mortem, raising suspicions about the cause of death. They urged the police to conduct an investigation and perform an autopsy.

In response, the police exhumed Nilofar’s body with the oversight of an executive magistrate and arranged for a specialized medical team to conduct the autopsy. Based on the findings and evidence gathered during the investigation, a case was filed against her husband, Naeem Khan Fateh, for murder and concealing evidence.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Superintendent of Police Ravindra Verma and Additional Superintendent of Police Bittu Sehgal formed a special police team to track down the suspect. Under the guidance of SDOP Saurabh Tomar, police from both the Khargone and Jaitapur stations initiated a thorough search for Fateh. Notices were issued alongside the reward to expedite his capture.

The Khargone police station’s officer in charge noted that the suspect had been moving between Indore, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan to evade law enforcement before finally being caught in Jaipur.
