Major Action by ED Against Online Gaming Company Gamescraft; Three Founders Arrested

Bengaluru, May 8: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken significant action against the online real money gaming company Gamescraft Technologies Limited. Three founders, Deepak Singh, Prithviraj Singh, and Vikas Taneja, have been arrested. This action is linked to cases of money laundering and fraud.

According to ED sources, multiple FIRs have been filed against the company and its associated entities. The allegations include fraud, misleading individuals, and causing financial losses through online gaming. The company reportedly operated platforms like RummyCulture and RummyTime, where users wagered money to play games.

The investigation agency has stated that serious allegations have emerged related to these apps and platforms. Some reports indicate that individuals have committed suicide after suffering mental and financial distress due to losses incurred in these games. Based on these complaints and FIRs, the ED registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

On May 7, 2026, the ED conducted raids at 17 locations in Karnataka and the NCR region. These raids targeted premises linked to the Gamescraft group, its founders, and some employees. During the searches, several crucial documents and electronic evidence were seized, deemed significant for the investigation.

The ED claims that the documents and other materials obtained during the investigation provided substantial indications of money laundering. Consequently, on May 8, 2026, the three founders were arrested under Section 19 of the PMLA.

Deepak Singh and Prithviraj Singh were arrested in the NCR region and later taken on transit remand to be presented in a Bengaluru court. Meanwhile, Vikas Taneja was apprehended in Bengaluru and presented in a local court.

Currently, the ED is conducting an in-depth investigation into the entire network and financial transactions involved.
