Main Suspect in Former MLA Atar Singh Bhadhana Murder Case Arrested
Mukesh Fauji, the main suspect in the murder of former MLA Atar Singh Bhadhana, has been arrested in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

Bharatpur, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Authorities in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, have apprehended Mukesh ‘Fauji,’ the primary suspect in the murder of former MLA Atar Singh Bhadhana. Mukesh had been on the run since the incident on October 11, prompting police to raid the homes of his relatives and family members.
After his arrest, Mukesh was taken to the local police station, where Superintendent of Police Rajesh Meena interrogated him late into the night. Investigators are working to piece together the events leading up to the murder, including the possible involvement of other suspects and the circumstances surrounding the crime.
While Mukesh was evading capture, local authorities issued a notice regarding the demolition of his home. Further actions will be taken according to legal and administrative procedures. Five other suspects have already been arrested in connection with the case.
Reports indicate that Mukesh ‘Fauji’ has been leading protests for the past two years, demanding the closure of a mining lease. His name has also come up in cases filed by Bhadhana’s widow. The police are currently investigating his alleged role in the murder.
Additionally, authorities are examining incendiary posts that circulated on social media related to a leased pathway. A viral post appeared shortly before the incident, and investigators noted that a minor dispute occurred on October 7.
On the day of the murder, police removed protesters from the demonstration site. There are claims that security personnel associated with Atar Singh Bhadhana allegedly exacerbated tensions through video footage. Some of these security personnel are reportedly from the Dhoulpur region. Police teams are reviewing videos and other materials to determine the sequence of events and the roles of those involved.
The arrested suspects, including Bhagma, Soni, Sher Singh, Baldev, and Kunwar Singh, were presented before Judicial Magistrate Suvihay Hafiz Siddiqui. The police requested three days of custody for questioning, but the court granted only two days of remand for all five suspects.
During the search for Mukesh ‘Fauji,’ police conducted multiple raids, including at his relatives’ homes. Investigators suspected he might be hiding in nearby villages or the Bayana area, where there are familial ties to Bhadhana. The rugged terrain of the Dang area posed significant challenges for the search.
According to police sources, some suspects managed to flee before the police reached certain locations. Additionally, teams were dispatched to Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, as there were concerns that the main suspect might have escaped to one of those states.
