Mumbai, April 17: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has suspended its employee Nida Khan, who is the main accused in a controversial conversion case in Nashik, Maharashtra. An official statement from the company confirmed the suspension.
The suspension order, issued on April 9, 2026, states that Khan, who works as a Process Associate, has been suspended with immediate effect due to serious allegations against her.
The company indicated that it received information regarding a serious matter involving this employee. Reports suggest that she is currently in judicial or police custody, rendering her unable to fulfill her work responsibilities.
The order also mentioned that, considering the gravity of the case, Khan will remain suspended until further investigation and decisions are made. Additionally, TCS has temporarily revoked her access to the internal network and instructed her to return all company property in her possession.
Khan has been advised not to come to the office or work from home until further notice from the HR department. The company emphasized the importance of confidentiality regarding this matter and warned that failure to comply with these instructions could result in disciplinary action.
Allegations against Khan include claims that she advised some female employees to adopt Islamic customs in their clothing and behavior. Some complainants have also stated that they felt pressured to follow religious practices, such as praying, changing dietary habits, and adopting religious symbols.
However, officials have clarified that these claims are still under investigation and have not yet been verified. Authorities are currently examining the allegations to determine the facts and whether any wrongdoing occurred.
Meanwhile, TCS has stated that the suspension is a temporary administrative measure taken in light of the case’s seriousness and does not imply guilt. Further actions will depend on the investigation’s results and the final conclusions of the relevant authorities.
