Bhivandi, August 11: In a significant development in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak case, the director of a police training institute in Solapur has been arrested. The police are expected to present him in Bhivandi court on Tuesday. DCP Pawan Bansod from Bhivandi Zone-2 confirmed the arrest.
The arrested individual, Prakash Pawar, operates a training institute that prepares candidates for police recruitment and various competitive exams. So far, the police have apprehended 16 suspects in connection with this case. The TET exam was canceled following the leak.
The investigation is being conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Bhivandi police. Recently, the police arrested the main conspirator, Bijendra Gupta.
Initially, the police arrested suspects from Delhi, Agra, and Bihar. However, during the investigation, links to Maharashtra emerged. After Prakash Pawar’s name surfaced, he was taken into custody for questioning and subsequently arrested.
According to police reports, Pawar allegedly provided certain documents to previously arrested suspects for some students. The purpose of these documents is currently under investigation.
Additionally, authorities are looking into whether Pawar has any connections with other individuals involved in this case. A total of 16 people have been arrested in relation to the TET paper leak, with police examining financial transactions, student documents, and other irregularities associated with the exam.
Regarding Bijendra Gupta’s arrest, police stated that he, along with Indrajeet Singh alias Piku and another associate, was apprehended during a special operation in Bihar. Authorities believe Gupta may have played a significant role in several exam paper leak cases across the country, making him a key suspect in the Maharashtra TET paper leak case.
