Maharashtra CM Unveils Logo for Nashik Kumbh Mela, Promises a Grand Event

Mumbai, May 13: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and several ministers, unveiled the logo for the upcoming Nashik Kumbh Mela on Wednesday. Officials such as Manisha Khatri and Shekhar Singh were also present at the event. The leaders addressed various issues, including arrests related to the NEET paper leak, airport decisions, and Prime Minister Modi’s recent appeals.

During the logo unveiling, CM Fadnavis emphasized that the government is preparing for a ‘grand and divine’ Kumbh Mela, ensuring ample facilities for both devotees and saints. He mentioned that the government is coordinating with akhadas (Hindu monastic orders) and religious leaders to facilitate the smooth conduct of this spiritual event, which occurs every 12 years.

“We have shared the progress made in preparations for the Kumbh Mela. Saints and mahants (religious leaders) have provided numerous suggestions, which have been taken seriously, and officials have been instructed to implement them,” he stated.

Responding to Prime Minister Modi’s call, CM Fadnavis remarked, “I believe we should view our Prime Minister’s initiative positively during this global crisis. Many countries are facing severe situations, with lockdowns and skyrocketing petrol prices reaching ₹450-500.”

Regarding the cancellation of the NEET exam due to the paper leak, the Chief Minister noted, “The CBI is investigating this matter, and our police will assist them. I want to thank the Government of India and especially the organization responsible for conducting the NEET exam for taking this issue very seriously.”

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde added, “The Prime Minister has urged us to reduce the use of petrol and diesel, and I have implemented this starting today. I arrived here in an electric vehicle.”

On the NEET exam cancellation, Shinde expressed, “The CBI is looking into this unfortunate incident. No one will be spared.”

Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) Commissioner Manisha Khatri stated, “A meeting for the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela was held today, inviting all saints and mahants. The logo for the Kumbh was launched in the presence of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister by the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority.”

According to an official release, CM Devendra Fadnavis unveiled the logo at the Sahyadri Guest House, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar. The design was selected through a nationwide competition organized by the Kumbh Mela Authority, MyGov, and the Association of Designers of India. The competition, held from November 20 to December 20, 2025, received a total of 3,067 entries, including submissions from 70 international participants.
