Maha Govt waives loans of 7 lakh farmers

Mumbai : Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has decided to waive loans of farmers worth ₹964 crore in the cabinet meeting on Thursday. The cabinet has also approved the formation of 2800 SHGs in Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Maharashtra regions.

The Minority Development Department will provide skill development training to 1500 minority women. Similarly, it has been decided to withdraw all political and social matters registered in the cabinet till June 2020.

Shinde told reporters on Thursday that ₹964 crore loan waiver has been done for seven lakh farmers who had taken loans from the Land Development Bank.

Chief Minister Shinde informed that ₹2,500 have been deposited in the accounts of seven lakh farmers who have paid regular loans. A survey of the damage caused by excessive rain is being conducted, the affected farmers will be given immediate help.

Shinde said that this government belongs to the farmers and is working for them. The Chief Minister said that in the cabinet meeting, it has also been decided to withdraw the political and social matters registered till June 30, 2022.
