Indore, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on September 4 that the state will invest approximately ₹17 crore to develop ‘Parshuram Lok’ and ‘Krishna Lok’ in Janapav, Indore district. This initiative aims to transform the sacred site into a prominent pilgrimage and religious tourism destination.
The announcement was made during the foundation stone-laying ceremony for these two projects, coinciding with the celebration of Janmashtami. The developments are modeled after the successful Mahakal Lok in Ujjain.
CM Yadav emphasized Janapav’s significance, linking it to the revered figures of Maharishi Parshuram and Lord Krishna. He stated, “Janapav is the glorious land where Lord Krishna received the Sudarshan Chakra from Maharishi Parshuram. It is a sacred and magnificent site, and remembering Lord Krishna here on Janmashtami is a matter of great fortune for us.”
The state government is committed to showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s nearly 5,000-year-old religious and cultural history. Yadav highlighted plans to develop sites associated with Lord Krishna and Lord Rama as pilgrimage locations.
“All sites related to Lord Krishna in Madhya Pradesh will be developed as pilgrimage destinations, alongside enhancing locations visited by Lord Rama during his exile to promote religious tourism,” he added.
The Parshuram Lok and Krishna Lok projects will feature a revamped yagna kund, a grand auditorium, meditation huts, a herbal garden, landscaping, a multipurpose building, and improved public amenities. A proposed ropeway on the hill aims to facilitate easier access for pilgrims and tourists.
Yadav noted the positive impact of Mahakal Lok’s development, which has significantly increased the number of pilgrims visiting Ujjain, creating new job and business opportunities for local residents. Similar benefits are anticipated from the development of Janapav as a spiritual and tourism hub.
Reflecting on Lord Krishna’s life, the Chief Minister remarked that the Sudarshan Chakra became a vital tool for upholding dharma and truth. He recounted the incident involving Shishupal, where Krishna honored a promise made to his aunt by forgiving him for a hundred offenses before taking action to protect righteousness.
These projects are expected to connect future generations with the timeless traditions and spiritual heritage associated with Lord Krishna and Maharishi Parshuram.
