Madhya Pradesh Government to Cover Medical Expenses for Petrol Pump Fire Victims

Bhopal, May 12: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that it will bear the full medical expenses for all 13 individuals injured in a devastating fire at a petrol pump in the town of Pachor, located in Rajgarh district.

The incident occurred near the old bus stand, resulting in chaos in the densely populated Central Market area on Monday night.

On Tuesday morning, the State Minister for Skill Development and Employment visited the government hospital in Shajapur to meet with the injured. He aimed to monitor their recovery process and ensure they receive the best medical care available.

Following his visit, the minister shared on social media that he had inquired about the well-being of the injured citizens. He also discussed the situation with administrative officials and medical staff, issuing strict directives to provide all necessary assistance and top-notch medical facilities to those affected by the incident.

Reports indicate that on Monday evening, a tanker was filling fuel into an underground storage tank at the petrol pump when a fire suddenly broke out. The scene quickly turned chaotic as flames erupted, filling the area with thick smoke.

The fire spread rapidly, igniting the fuel tanker as well, which intensified the blaze and complicated firefighting efforts. Thirteen individuals sustained injuries, and 15 motorcycles were completely destroyed in the fire.

Fire department personnel worked tirelessly for approximately 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

Local officials and emergency rescue teams arrived promptly at the scene to manage the crowd and ensure the safe evacuation of the injured.

In addition to the minister’s visit, Shajapur MLA Arun Bhimavad also arrived at the hospital late Monday night. He spoke with the victims and assessed the emergency medical arrangements.

Currently, all 13 injured patients are receiving treatment at Shajapur District Hospital. The medical team has been instructed to prioritize their recovery with the support of the state government. Reports indicate that one of the seriously injured patients has been referred to Indore for further treatment.
