Bhopal, August 15: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ordered the suspension of seven officials on Friday during a district-level grievance redressal program held in Barwani under the ‘Chief Minister’s Public Trust Campaign.’ This action was taken in response to complaints from citizens regarding delays in receiving government services and benefits.
The Chief Minister engaged directly with complainants, reviewing issues related to land mutation, housing assistance, welfare payments, and livestock insurance. He specifically ordered the immediate suspension of the then Tehsildar Asha Parmar and Patwaris Mangilal Nargave and Lalit Borse. A complainant, Ajay Lal from Rajpur Tehsil, reported that he applied for land mutation following his father’s death in 2016, but the process was only completed in 2022. He also raised concerns about delays in registration and payments under the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Taking these delays seriously, Yadav held the officials accountable for negligence. Parmar is currently serving as a Deputy Collector in Dhar district.
In another case, the Chief Minister suspended two former municipal officials, Mayaram Solanki and Jagdish Dhakad, along with Assistant Engineer Raju Dawar, for delays in disbursing installments under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme (Urban). Complainant Rupesh Sharma stated that he applied for the housing scheme in 2019. Although geo-tagging was completed in 2022 and the installment process began in 2023, he only received the first installment on August 10, after his house was already built. Yadav also issued a show-cause notice to SK Sinha, the Joint Director of Urban Administration in Indore.
Yadav emphasized that citizens should not have to navigate from one government office to another to access their rightful benefits. Any unnecessary delays in addressing complaints are unacceptable.
Additionally, the Chief Minister ordered the suspension of the then CEO of the Janpad Panchayat, Saurabh Singh Thakur, for delays in providing funeral and ex-gratia payments under the ‘Sambal Yojana.’ A complainant who applied for assistance in April 2019 had not received help, as 16 beneficiaries lower on the priority list had already been assisted.
Yadav has also ordered investigations into delays in payments under the ‘Chief Minister’s Child Blessing Scheme’ and livestock insurance.
Late Friday night, a government statement confirmed the suspension of one Tehsildar, two Patwaris, two municipal officials, one Assistant Engineer, and the CEO of the Janpad Panchayat.
