Mumbai, March 9: At the recently concluded MWC 2026 event, Lenovo introduced the Legion Go Fold Concept, a groundbreaking portable gaming PC featuring a foldable screen. This innovative design enhances flexibility for gamers, building on the existing Legion Go handheld series and offering various gaming options based on user location.
The device boasts a POLED display that adjusts in size. When folded, it measures 7.7 inches, functioning as a standard handheld gaming device with detachable controllers on either side. This configuration is ideal for limited spaces, such as during travel or quick breaks.
When fully unfolded, the display expands to 11.6 inches, enabling multiple usage modes that extend beyond traditional handheld gaming.
In Standard Handheld Mode, the device remains folded with the 7.7-inch display and attached controllers, providing a familiar gaming experience akin to other portable gaming PCs.

The device also features a Vertical Split-Screen Mode. In this setup, the screen unfolds upward, creating two stacked displays. Gamers can run a game on one screen while utilizing the other for walkthroughs, streaming content, or accessing additional information during gameplay.

Another option is the Horizon Full Screen Mode. Here, the display is unfolded and rotated 90 degrees. The controllers can be reattached to utilize the full 11.6-inch screen for gaming, providing more viewing space that enhances the experience in games that benefit from a larger display.
Legion Go Fold Expanded Desktop Mode
The fourth mode is Expanded Desktop Mode. Lenovo includes a wireless keyboard with a built-in touchpad, allowing the device to function like a compact laptop. Users can play games with keyboard controls, browse media, stream content, or complete work tasks. The right controller can also serve as a vertical mouse, similar to features in other Legion Go devices.
The Legion Go Fold Concept is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor and comes with 32GB of RAM, designed to handle modern PC games and multitasking efficiently. It features a 48Wh battery, which Lenovo claims supports longer gaming sessions while optimizing power consumption.
The detachable controllers offer additional functionalities. The right controller includes a small built-in screen that acts as a touchpad, displaying performance metrics, adjusting system settings, and serving as a customizable hotkey panel.
As with many concept devices showcased at tech events, it remains uncertain whether Lenovo will bring the Legion Go Fold to market. The manufacturing of foldable displays for gaming handhelds is still costly and complex, potentially leading to high consumer prices. However, Lenovo has a history of transforming experimental Legion concepts into market-ready products, suggesting that elements of this design may eventually appear in future Legion Go devices, even if the exact model does not reach mass production.
