Mumbai, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : Social media influencer Kushal Tanwar, known as Gullu, is currently a contestant on Bigg Boss 20. During a recent conversation on the show, he shared the painful details of his divorce, which occurred just four to five months after his wedding. In a candid discussion with fellow contestant Tauqeer Kazmi, Tanwar expressed the depth of his heartbreak, stating, “It was worse than a breakup when my divorce happened.”
Kazmi was taken aback and inquired about the timeline of Tanwar’s marriage. Gullu recounted the difficult period, revealing that his divorce took place in 2024. He described it as a deeply depressing phase, noting that his marriage lasted only four to five years. “Everyone thought it was wrong, and I tried to make it work, but eventually, I realized it wouldn’t last. In our culture, marriages happen quickly, and I had to marry due to family pressure,” he explained.
Ultimately, Tanwar decided to focus on his career, expressing hope for a brighter future. “It can’t get worse than this; life can only improve from here, and I’ve chosen to concentrate on my work,” he said.
He shared that the divorce process was ongoing while he was filming for the reality show Roadies. “I was in Goa with the Roadies gang when someone leaked photos. I felt like everything was over for me. I didn’t know what to do,” he recalled.
Tanwar also mentioned a lack of family support during this tumultuous time, revealing that there were disagreements regarding the divorce. While he wanted to end the marriage, his family opposed it. “There was a fight where I wanted the divorce, and my family was against it. At that time, they completely cut ties with me. It took a year to resolve these issues. It had a significant impact on me, but I’ve finally moved past it,” he shared.
Later in the conversation, Kazmi lightened the mood by composing a song for Tanwar, stating that its lyrics suited his personality. They ended their discussion on a lighter note, although the revelation reignited an old controversy surrounding Tanwar’s wedding photos, which he had previously claimed were fake.
