New Delhi, April 25: Actor Kunal Kapoor is set to appear in the upcoming film ‘Ek Din’. This marks his return after ‘Jewel Thief’, making it a significant project. The film is produced under Aamir Khan’s production banner, featuring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi in lead roles.
Recently, Kunal disclosed that Aamir Khan personally contacted him for a cameo role in ‘Ek Din’. He shared that Aamir expressed a desire for him to be part of the film.
Kunal described the film as “a lovely and touching story,” expressing hope that it will resonate with audiences. He praised Sai Pallavi for her outstanding performances and commended Junaid Khan for his impressive work. Kunal mentioned, “I have a special appearance in the film. Aamir reached out to me and wanted me to be involved. It’s a role I thoroughly enjoyed playing.”
He also praised Junaid Khan, calling him “incredibly focused and hardworking.” Kunal noted, “I’ve seen Junaid as a young boy. Now, he is doing remarkable work, and importantly, he is also taking on the responsibility of producing the film. For him, only work matters. I believe his future is very bright.”
Directed by Sunil Pandey, ‘Ek Din’ marks a full-circle moment for Kunal, who previously worked with him as an assistant director on ‘Rang De Basanti’. Kunal remarked, “There’s something special about these full-circle moments, working with those you started your career with. ‘Rang De Basanti’ recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.”
The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, is set to release in theaters on May 1.
