KTR demands apology from Sanjay to Palamuru people

Hyderabad, April 15 : TRS Working President and Minister K.T Rama Rao demanded that BJP State President Bandai Sanjay Kumar should tender an apology to the people of Palamuru and the entire Telangana for betrayal, injustice, and negligence done by the party to the state. Calling Sanjay’s ongoing second Praja Sangrama Yatra a deception, Rao said the former does not have the right to step in Palamuru. In an open letter to the State BJP president on Thursday evening, he said that the fields in Palamuru, which were once known for acute drought, have now turned into fertile lands. River Krishna was the lifeline of Palamuru, the Minister said the BJP-led NDA Government had set up the River Krishna Management Board but there was no development in addressing the river water sharing disputes. This was pushing the district’s future in doubt, he asserted. Telangana has been demanding for National status for Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme and Bandi Sanjay should explain the Centre’s response to the Palamuru people, Rao demanded. KTR said “Bandi Sanjay should step into Palamuru only after explaining to Telangana people as to why the Upper Bhadra project in neighbouring Karnataka is accorded National status and why Telangana is discriminated against it .” The Minister said people have been appealing for a new Railway line to Palamuru via Nagarkurnool but all their pleas were completely ignored by the BJP-led government at the Centre and its leaders. He demanded that Sanjay should let people know how much fund he has donated to temples in Telangana. Rao made this statement as the BJP State President will be commencing his padayatra after offering prayers at Adishakti Pitham of Jogulamba Gadwal on Thursday. The BJP which does politics in the name of God Sri Rama should tell the people of Telangana about how much they have donated to the Sri Rama temple in Bhadradri, he said and questioned if the party had donated even a single rupee to the Yadadri temple. BJP is used to playing politics in the name of God and religion, he said that the Lok Sabha MP should start his padayatra after responding to the plight of Telangana farmers. The BJP leaders have misled the farmers of Telangana by encouraging them to cultivate paddy with the false promise of procurement of the paddy by the central government. But, they changed their words and made the farming comm ty suffer, the Minister said BJP’s Yatra was ‘Rythu Dagaa Yatra’ or ‘Rythu Dokhaa Yatra.’ No padayatra can compensate for the betrayals done by BJP to Telangana, he alleged and wondered what was the point of doing padayatra when the BJP only spills venom on the people of Telangana.
