Motihari, May 21: In a swift response, police in Bihar’s East Champaran district thwarted a kidnapping attempt, successfully rescuing a child within 12 hours. The incident occurred in the Darpa police station area on the night of May 20, when unknown assailants lured the child under the pretense of offering a cold drink and forcibly took him away on a motorcycle.
Upon receiving the distressing report, police sprang into action. Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat, recognizing the seriousness of the situation, formed a special task force led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Manish Anand. The police quickly sealed off the surrounding areas and activated informants while employing technical surveillance.
The task force conducted rapid raids on suspected hideouts of the kidnappers. Due to the police pressure, the criminals were forced to change locations frequently, making it difficult for them to keep the child hidden. The mounting pressure and encirclement led to the kidnappers’ disarray, resulting in the police recovering the child safely within just 12 hours of the incident.
The Superintendent of Police confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and efforts to apprehend the criminals have intensified. The identities of the suspects have been established, and a thorough investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the child’s family expressed immense relief and gratitude towards the police for their prompt action.
