Mumbai: The multi-starrer film ‘Border-2’, featuring Sunny Deol, has been performing exceptionally well at the box office since its release. The movie has already grossed over ₹250 crore worldwide, with the current week expected to continue its strong run.
In a recent development, Khushboo Patni, a former Major in the Indian Army, watched ‘Border-2’ and shared how the film brought back memories of her army days. Known for openly discussing women’s safety, Khushboo took to Instagram to appreciate Varun Dhawan’s acting skills. She posted a photo of Varun in his role as Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, praising his memorable performance.
Khushboo wrote, “Just watched Border-2. Varun Dhawan’s work is outstanding. His portrayal of Hoshiar Singh Dahiya will be remembered always. It has refreshed some of my old memories, especially from training days. We live like brothers and sisters, and we die like brothers and sisters. Earlier, on Republic Day, Khushboo shared pictures of herself in her army uniform, showcasing her former Major look complete with a walkie-talkie and black sunglasses, reflecting a strong and impressive image.
Regarding the box office, ‘Border-2’ had a remarkable opening week in India, earning approximately ₹32 crore on its first day. The collections grew steadily with ₹36.5 crore on Saturday, ₹54 crore on Sunday, and ₹59 crore on Monday. On Tuesday, the film added ₹19.5 crore, bringing the total Indian box office collection close to ₹200 crore.
Globally, the film has amassed ₹270.7 crore so far. However, with the release of Rani Mukerji’s ‘Mardaani-3’ on 30 January, the ongoing collections for ‘Border-2’ might be affected. The ‘Mardaani’ series has consistently delivered strong box office numbers in the past.
