Keralas New UDF Government to Include Five Ministers from IUML

Thiruvananthapuram, May 17: The newly formed United Democratic Front (UDF) government in Kerala, led by V.D. Satheesan, is set to take the oath of office on Monday. The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will have a significant presence, with five ministers appointed from the party. Before the swearing-in ceremony, the nominated IUML leaders expressed confidence in the new government and readiness to assume their responsibilities.

The IUML will see strong representation in the cabinet of the V.D. Satheesan government, with five leaders from the party joining the state ministry. The ministers taking the oath include P.K. Kunhalikutty, N. Shamsudheen, K.M. Shaji, P.K. Bashir, and V.E. Abdul Gafoor, highlighting the party’s crucial role in the UDF government.

V.E. Abdul Gafoor, one of the appointed ministers, stated in an interview that the Chief Minister-designate, V.D. Satheesan, has already clarified the direction and objectives of the new government. He emphasized that all ministers will work collectively to implement the government’s goals.

“Our Chief Ministerial candidate has clearly outlined the mission of the government. Under his leadership, we will execute the plan and work responsibly in whatever department we are assigned,” he said.

N. Shamsudheen, another IUML legislator and minister-designate, expressed his happiness at being included in the cabinet, stating that the government led by V.D. Satheesan will officially take charge on Monday.

Meanwhile, P.K. Bashir, who is also set to take the oath, confirmed his readiness to take on the new responsibilities, saying, “I am about to take the oath of office as a minister.”

The swearing-in ceremony for the V.D. Satheesan cabinet will take place on Monday morning in Thiruvananthapuram, marking the formal establishment of the new UDF government in Kerala. Leaders and supporters of the coalition have high hopes for development and good governance from the new administration.
